- Gillian Mathews Review added: 2018.03.27★ ★ ★ ★ ★Lovely place for an extended family weekend birthday celebration. The lodge was just what we needed - warm and comfortable but informal easy living. The bedrooms are simple and comfortable, with a good kitchen and a great dining room for everyone to sit down together. The dogs loved all the open space, and there can be nowhere better than sitting out on the veranda on a sunny evening.
We did lots of cooking and managed to find most of what we needed - although a food processor would have made life much easier when catering for 9 people! An extraordinary electric coffee pot was hidden deep in the utility room - maybe just a large cafetiere would be a simpler and more up to date solution?
We loved the area, and will be back again soon.
